Top 175 Recruiting Classes Updated

Joe Legerski of Wyoming and Cindy Fisher of San Diego (top) both enjoyed successful recruiting campaigns.

The All Star Girls Report staff has once again updated it’s recruiting class rankings for 2014. The list has been extended to 175 schools, and both San Diego and Wyoming have moved into the rankings.

San Diego jumped up to No. 133, and the Cowgirls landed at No. 144.

“Both San Diego and Wyoming signed strong classes that are going to have an important impact for those programs in the coming years,” said veteran analyst Bret McCormick.

Now in its 18th year, the All Star Girls Report is the leader in women’s basketball scouting. ASGR’s rankings are compiled by McCormick. ASGR members can log in and view the complete updated rankings at www.ASGR.info.

It should be noted that players listed with an “NR” are included in the ASGR system, but they generally fall outside the Top 600 nationally.

  1. Connecticut: Gabby Williams, No. 2, 5’11 PG; Sadie Edwards, No. 6, 5’10 SG; Courtney Ekmark, No. 8, 6’0 SG; Kia Nurse, No. 14, 6-0, G.

McCormick on the Huskies: “Gabby Williams is one of the best players I’ve ever seen. She’s like Maya Moore in that she could play just about any position. She does it all on the court, and she has Olympic potential in the high jump. Sadie is a combo guard who is a great athlete. She’s tremendous off the bounce with a nice floater in the lane. She is a big time scorer, but she will involve her teammates. Courtney is a high IQ player. She is a great shooter with deep range, and she is a gym rat who has a unique understanding of the game. Courtney Ekmark will make her mark at Connecticut. Kia Nurse could play any of the guard spots. She has a smooth all-around game, and she plays hard.”
