Tennessee Team Pride Ready For Suwanee TOC

Tennessee Team Pride started the 2015 travel campaign on a strong note, and the program is expecting even more success in the key month of July.

“Our first big event was the Deep South Classic, and we had a lot of college coaches contacting us after that event,” said program director Chris Brown. “Our kids and our parents were all very impressed with the impact of that one event. It was a very positive experience.

“We are still improving, and July has always been a fun month for us. We usually come together as we go along, and we peak in July. That’s when things really start to click. The kids get to reap the rewards of all their hard work, and it’s a lot of fun for everyone.”

Tennessee Team Pride should be nearing its peak at the Suwanee Tournament of Champions. The event, which will showcase top flight teams from around the country, will be played at the expansive Suwanee Sports Academy outside of Atlanta from July 5-8.

As always Tennessee Team Pride is loaded with talent. Among the program’s veteran performers, the two highest rated prospects are Jazz Bond (2016, 6-3, F) and Raegyn Branch (2016, 6-3, PF). The All Star Girls Report has Bond listed as the No. 154 recruit in the Class of 2016, and Branch is ranked at No. 222.

“They both are long athletes who can play inside, and they can step outside,” Brown said. “Jazz has a long, lanky body, and she plays very well in space. She is a very good rebounder, and she can defend inside or on the perimeter. Raegyn can post up, and she can shoot it with range. She has had an incredible spring, and she is getting a lot of contact. She turned a lot of heads with the way she played when she wasn’t posting up.”
Brown is also expecting big finishes in July from Carleigh Short (2016, 5-6, PG), Lakelyn Bouldin (2016, 5-6, PG), Vashnie Perry (2016, 5-6, PG) and Sarah Pierce (2016, 5-10, WF).
“Carleigh can knock down a jump shot, and she can create shots for her teammates,” Brown said. “She is also a zero turnover point guard who can really take care of the ball for you. Lakelyn is in her first year with our program, and she is a tremendous perimeter defender. She is quick to the rim, and she is just a player who finds a way to get her shot. She also pushes the tempo for us, and she is fun to watch in the open court.
“Vash is a super athlete who can finish at the rim, or shoot it with range. She has an extra gear when she is going up and down the court. On the offensive end, Vash can attack the basket and finish, or she can set up her teammates. Sarah is another very athletic guard who can split the defense and get to the rim. She can finish in traffic, she is a high IQ player, and she is a super defender.”
