Some of the rising stars in the Tennessee Team Pride program will have an opportunity to step into the spotlight this weekend as the club closes out its 2015 travel schedule.

“This is one of those weekends where there seems to be a lot going on for some of the kids, so we will have a number of 2018’s playing with us,” said Coach Chris Brown. “It’s a great opportunity for those kids, and I think they will do well.”

Those youngsters will certainly be challenged at the All Star Girls Report sponsored Marietta Tournament of Champions. The event, which will be played from Sept. 25-27 at the Suwanee Sports Academy outside of Atlanta, Ga., will feature some of the nation’s finest travel squads.

Team Tennessee Pride will be completing yet another successful year for the program.

“We closed out the summer in Charlotte, and it was great,” Brown said. “We got some tremendous exposure with college coaches, and we played against some great competition. The kids played well and enjoyed the experience, so it was everything you could ask for.”

When Team Tennessee Pride takes the court in Marietta, three young players who will be counted on heavily will be Jane Deason (2018, 5-9, SG), Sloan Mann (2018, 5-9, 2-3) and Savannah Lee (2018, 6-0, PF).

“Those three will definitely be a big part of what we are doing in Marietta,” Brown said. “Jane is a shooter and a slasher who can score the basketball. Sloan is also a great shooter, she is tough on the boards, and she defends very well. Savannah is strong inside, and she has a good face up game out to 15 feet. I think Savannah is still growing, and she is really coming on. She has come a long way in her understanding of the game.”
