Team St. Louis Will Journey To Chicagoland TOC

Team St. Louis is a program on the rise, with a talented list of rising young prospects. After completing a successful summer campaign, Team St. Louis will close out 2015 at the Chicagoland Tournament of Champions. The All Star Girls Report event, which will be played on Sept. 26 at Bolingbrook High School, will feature an outstanding field.

The team is led by veterans Mariah Haywood (2017, 5-11, G-F) and Janalle Randall (2017, 5-11, WF). The All Star Girls Report currently has Haywood listed as the No. 121 recruit in her class nationally.

‟Mariah is a left-handed athlete who can jump out of the gym,‟ said Coach Tony Condra. 'She is an excellent rebounder, and she has a nice mid-range pull up. Janalle is another great rebounder. She is a long athlete who also plays the passing lanes very well on defense.'

Looking to the future, the top young players from Team St. Louis are Aijah Blackwell (2019, 6-0, F) and Je'Nya Davis (2019, 5-7, CG). Blackwell is currently ranked as the No. 41 recruit in her class according to ASGR.

‟Aijah is probably going to be the biggest recruit in our program,‟ Condra said. ‟She is just a special, all-around player who could seriously play the point or in the post. She can create off the dribble and then either finish or pass to an open teammate, and she can knock down the three. She also plays good defense.

‟Je'Nya is a sleeper who started getting a lot of attention during the second half of July. She is a smooth, long athlete with deceptive speed and deep, deep three-point range. Je'Nya is going to compete, and she never gets rattled on the court.‟
