Heading into its fourth year, Team Slink from the Tennesse/Kentucky region has announced that it will join the elite All Star Girls Report Summer League in 2016.
“We run our own series of events, but it turned out that the All Star Girls Report events were a great fit with our schedule,” said Team Slink’s John McGraw. “We do our best to give the kids in our program a platform to showcase their talents, and the League is going to be a great compliment the events we have been playing.”
Two players from the Team Slink program are currently listed among the nation’s leading prospects by the All Star Girls Report. Jada Stinson, a 5-7 point guard, is ranked at No. 195 for the Class of 2017, while Savannah Slade (2017, 6-3, PF) is at No. 423.
“Jada is the type of player who can do it all,” McGraw said. “She can fill it up, either driving to the basket or shooting from the perimeter. She is also a great passer and facilitator, and she has great court vision.
“Savannah is a face-up post player who is a very good shooter. She has a soft touch, and her range goes out to the three-point line. She is more of a finesse post player with a soft touch, and she runs very well.”
Team Slink also has a strong nucleus in the Class of 2018, led by Jireh Washington (5-7, G) and Johne Stewart (5-7, G), who are high school teammates in Memphis.
“Jireh is a super athletic guard,” McGraw said. “Jireh is also a great shooter with range. Johne is another super athlete like Jireh, and they are both great ball handlers. Johne is a player who will go and get it on the offensive end — she can shoot it, and she’ll drive to the basket.”
