Team Loaded Staying In-State For Virginia Beach Classic

The program name is new, but the coaches and the players will be familiar when Team Loaded takes the court this spring. Many of the top prospects from the state of Virginia will be suiting up for Team Loaded, and they are expecting a big year.

“We’re very excited about this season,” said Coach Mike Davis. “Things fell together quickly, and we’re still in the process of adding teams.”

Team Loaded won’t have to travel far to compete at the 2017 Virginia Beach Classic. The tournament will be played on April 28-30, with the entire event held under one roof at the Virginia Beach Convention Center.

The Convention Center is located just minutes away from the beach, and the venue should be loaded with college coaches from all levels. The area will be hosting the Virginia Beach Classic and the Nike Boo Williams will be 30 minutes away that weekend, and expectations are that over 600 coaches will be scouting the events.

“The All Star Girls Report events are always a great opportunity for our kids,” said Coach Mike Davis. “They are well organized, so you know the games will be on time and things will just be run the right way. The competition is very good, and there will be college coaches from all levels at the event.”

Team Loaded will have a series of talented athletes in Virginia Beach, including five players who are in the 2018 class. That group includes Dasmine Kasey (5-9, CG), Madison Lowery (6-2, WF), Rachael Stovall (6-4, C-F), Chaniqwa Gilliam (5-7, PG) and Imani Edmonds (5-9, SG). ASGR has Stovall listed as the No. 333 recruit in her class nationally.

“Dasmine is a long athlete who is very good at attack the rim, and she is a good rebounder,” Davis said. “Madison is one of the best shooters in the country. She doesn’t just have three-point range, she has NBA three-point range.

“Rachael has a strong frame and she is effective down low, but she can also step out and hit the three. She is an excellent all-around player who will rebound and block shots. Chaniqwa is very quick and very fast. She is our floor general, and she has been working hard to improve her overall game. Imani shoots it with range, and she is a tremendous athlete who is a good slasher. She also has a super high basketball IQ.”
