Team Carolina Ready For ASGR Summer League

Team Carolina is stepping up in 2016. The program will make it’s debut in the elite All Star Girls Report Summer League, and Coach Rik Seymour is confident that his players are ready.

“We have a strong group of players, and we’re always looking for ways to make them better, and to enhance their exposure,” Seymour said. “When you have an exciting challenge in front of you, it carries over to workouts and practices. There are just a lot of positives tied into playing in the League.

“We have a lot of talented, intelligent, fundamentally sound players. They are very athletic, very coachable, and very dedicated to improving. Our top age group has had a lot of success because they continued to develop, and we added some good pieces as we moved along.”

Highlighting the Team Carolina roster this summer will be a trio of perimeter players from the Class of 2018. Alex Canady is a 5-8 point guard, Allie Moss is a 5-9 combo guard, and Shea Plocharczyk is a 5-9 shooting guard.

“Alex is an all-around player. She handles the ball very well, go she is one of those player who can do it all,” Seymour said. “Allie has been with our program for seven years now, and she has become a prolific three-point shooter who can also play the point. She has eight three-pointers in one game last summer. Shea is another great shooter. She is probably the best pure perimeter shooter I’ve coached. Last July, she averaged over six three-pointers per game for us.”

In addition to that trio, the team will also look to Sam Michel (2017, 6-2, F) and Kim Schuh (2017, 6-0, F).

“Sam is very strong and very athletic, and I think she is poised to have a great summer,” Seymour said. “Kim is a very fundamentally sound, very versatile player. She scores for us, defends and rebounds well.”
