Team Breakdown Prospects Build Resumes Prior to Marietta TOC

Coach Pat Gajardo and the Team Breakdown program in Miami has one focus this summer, and the club is looking good using that measuring stick.

“This summer has been great,” Gajardo said. “I really feel like all of our kids have been able to increase their recruiting profile. We had a number of younger kids who got their names out there for the first time, which is important. Our won-loss record may not be great, but we’re not too worried about that. The kids are getting good exposure, and that’s the main thing for us.”

The Team Breakdown athletes will look to build their reputations further against an outstanding field in their own backyard at the Marietta TOC in Georgia on September 27-28. The event will be held at the Suwanee Sports Academy complex in Marietta, just outside of Atlanta.

The highest profile player on the Team Breakdown roster is Cabria Lee (2017, 5-8, PG) who is listed as the No. 81 recruit in her class by the All Star Girls Report.
“Lee is a big-time point guard with excellent quickness and skills,” said ASGR analyst Bret McCormick. “She is very good off the bounce, and she knows how to score.”
“Cabria is having a fantastic summer,” Gajardo said. “She missed her high school season in the winter because she was coming back from a knee injury, but she is back at full speed now. This is the first time that she has really faced top-notch competition, and more often than not she is the best player on the floor. She is more of a scoring point guard in the Russell Westbrook mold.”
Team Breakdown also relies heavily on Kristin Rampersad (2016, 5-6, PG), Ashley Saintigene (2016, 6-1, F) and Nailah Delinois (2016, 5-11, WF).
“Kristin has been shooting the ball very well. She is probably been our leading scorer this summer,” Gajardo said. “She is a good point guard who knows who to set the table for her teammates and run the offense, and she can knock down the three.
“Ashley blocks shots, rebounds and runs the floor for us. She has successfully made the transition from a back-to-the-basket player into a more versatile player. She can hit the three now, and she can face up. She has always been an active, high motor player.
“Nailah is a tough competitor with a very, very good all-around game. She can shoot the three, attack the basket, and she will defend multiple positions. She does a little bit of everything for us.”
“Rampersad is a quick point guard who understands the game,” added McCormick. “She can get to the basket and shoot the three. Saintigene is a three-four who is a good, left-handed athlete. She is a very good rebounder with a blue collar attitude, and she can face up on people. Delinois is a strong athlete with a good handle and a good mid-range game. She can also defend, which makes her a solid all-around player.”
