Tar Heels Top 2012 Recruiting Classes

Penn State’s Coquese Washington brought in a strong seven-player class that was rated as the ninth best class in the country.

The letters of intent are rolling in, and the big winner appears to be North Carolina. The Tar Heels inked four players, all of whom were rated among the Top 20 recruits in the country by the All Star Girls Report.

“North Carolina led the way, and the ACC as a whole did very, very well. They were clearly the best conference. The ACC schools went all across the country and they just did a great job finding outstanding recruits,” said ASGR analyst Bret McCormick.

“I think UNC has a great class. They have the No. 1 class and a very special player in Diamond DeShields. She will come in next year and immediately give them good production from the guard position.”
