Suwanee-Bound BTR Loaded With Young Talent

The Below the Rim program in Oklahoma has talent running through all of its teams, including a bevy of rising BTR stars who are just beginning their high school careers. The youngsters will be getting plenty of exposure at the upcoming Suwanee Tournament of Champions, which will be played on July 5-8. The All Star Girls Report run event will be held at the tremendous Suwanee Sports Academy, which is located just outside of Atlanta.

Among the top young guns for BTR this summer will be Alyssa Parmer (G, 5-7, 2021), Sharonica Hartsfield (5-6, PG, 2020), Ivory Davis (5-9, G, 2020) and Zaniya Nelson (5-11, W, 2020).

“Alyssa is a savante who has been on the circuit since the sixth grade,” said Coach Antoine Smith. “She is a do everything guard who can pass, handle and shoot, and she just keeps getting better and better and better. She has a great combination of athleticism and skill.

“Sharonica is a cat-quick point guard who has that special calmness. She has an excellent handle, she sees the floor very well, and she is a strong, tough kid.

“Ivory is another young player with a good, strong body. She is very good at getting to the basket, and she moves very well without the ball.

“Zaniya can jump out of the gym, and she has an incredible motor. She is already a very good defender and shot blocker. Offensively, she is making the transition to the guard position, and she is improving quickly.”
