SCS Valley Will Join ASGR Summer League

There will be a new entrant in the elite All Star Girls Report Summer League this year. Working in concert with the So Cal Select program, Stan Delus has developed the SCS Valley club based in the San Fernando Valley area.

“Our program is set up to provide year round training, and we work to develop players at all levels,” Delus explained. “I think the biggest thing about the League, for us, is that it will be a positive experience for multiple levels. I think all our kids will have an opportunity to showcase what they can do.”

Delus’ program certainly has its share of talented young players, including a wonderful quartet of athletes from his Valley Elite squad. Isabelle Newman is a 6-0 point guard who is currently rated as the No. 280 recruit nationally in the Class of 2017 by the All Star Girls Report. Newman is joined on the team by Alexis Rigsby (2017, 5-9, G), Lily Perkins (2017, 5-11, F) and Savannah Sullivan (2019, 5-11, F).

“Isabelle is a combo guard who has been in our program for five years,” Delus said. “She is a very good ball handler, she sees the floor very well, and she knows how to pick her spots to be an offensive threat. She is a facilitator, but she can shoot the three.

“Alexis is a high motor player who is a great defender. She can defend any of the perimeter positions. Offensively, she can get to the basket, and she has a very good mid-range game.

“Lily is an inside-outside monster for us. She has a great pull-up jumper and an array of moves around the basket. Even though she is only 5-11, Lily can defend in the post and she is a great rebounder.

“Savannah is a stretch four type. She is very strong, and she has a finesse game. Savannah shoots the three and she has a great touch, but she can also bang inside and post up. She is a very good passer, especially against double-teams, she can put the ball on the floor, and she runs the court well and finishes in transition.”
