Mizzou Benefits From Local Program

The players at Rock Bridge High School in Missouri have enjoyed tremendous success on the prep level, and three of those players will hope to continue that trend in the future at Missouri.

Current Rock Bridge junior Abrianna Porter, plus her sophomore sister Cierra Porter and classmate Sophie Cunningham have all verbally committed to Mizzou head coach Robin Pingeton. All three prospects have connections to the program. Michael Porter, who is the father of Abrianna and Cierra, is now in his third year as the director of basketball operations for the Tigers. Lindsey Cunningham, Sophie’s older sister, is now a freshman at Missouri.

Abrianna Porter is a 6-2 forward who is listed as the No. 108 recruit in the Class of 2014 by the All Star Girls Report. Cunningham is a 6-1 guard who is rated at No. 23 in the Class of 2015 by ASGR, and 6-3 center Cierra Porter is at No. 41 on that list.

“This is a very, very good group,” noted All Star Girls Report analyst Bret McCormick. “Abrianna knows how to score inside, and she also has good shooting range. Cierra is a lefty who is more of a center. She can score with either hand, and she can step out a little.

“Sophie could play a lot of different positions with her size and athleticism. She is very skilled, and she is a good leader. She is the type of player who will do whatever your team needs to be successful.”
