Mac Irvin Fire Sending Four Teams To Louisville Summer Derby Classic

The summer circuit is loaded with talent filled travel programs, but very few can match the elite level of talent in the Mac Irvin Fire organization. The Chicago based program has top flight prospects in every class, including some who rank among the very best in the nation.

The Mac Irvin Fire stars will be showcased when the program takes four teams to the 2015 Summer Derby Classic, which will be played in Louisville, KY on July 23-24. The tournament, which will include many of the top travel programs in the country, will be played at the Mid America Sports Center.

The star-studded Mac Irvin Fire rosters include four players who are listed as Top 100 prospects in their class by the All Star Girls Report. Here is a quick look at the athletes who have earned that designation from ASGR:
Tori McCoy is a 6-3 power forward who is rated as the No. 4 recruit in the Class of 2016. McCoy gives the Fire a strong inside presence, but she is also productive on the perimeter. She could develop into a outstanding stretch four, or even a three, at the collegiate level.
Kiara Lewis is a 5-8 point guard who is listed at No. 17 in the Class of 2016. Lewis is an intelligent, fundamentally sound floor leader who excellent passing skills. She can also score the basketball with deep three range and the strength to post up smaller defenders.
Gabrielle Cooper is a 5-10 guard who is ranked at No. 65 on the ASGR list for 2016’s. Cooper is a tremendous athlete with an all-around game. She is an outstanding slasher, but she can also shoot the deep three and pass the ball effectively.
Destiny Harden, the No. 86 prospect in the Class of 2017, is a 5-10 guard. Harden is an explosive athlete with an inside-outside game. She can shoot the three and she can attack the basket. Harden also has an impressive motor.
