Knoxville Lady Panthers Hope To Keep Rolling In Nashville

The Lady Panther program out of Knoxville began the summer of 2014 in strong fashion, and a solid mix of proven veterans and talented youngsters could carry the club to even greater heights.

“We have played great so far,” said Coach Don Brown. “We have had a number of different players really step up, and they are getting more and more attention from the college coaches.”

The Lady Panthers tied for fifth place in the top division at the Deep South Classic, and standouts Logan Reynolds (2015, 5-7, PG, Rated no. 340 in her class by All Star Girls Report) and Savannah Felgemacher (2015, 6-2, C) both picked up multiple offers in the following week. The Lady Panthers hope to make a similar impact at the Nashville Tournament of Champions, which will be played from July 10-12. The event will include 48 elite travel teams, with games being played at the newly expanded Hooptown facility in Smyrna, TN. Hooptown is conveniently located near popular restaurants and hotels.

In addition to Reynolds and Felgemacher, Brown is expecting strong play in Nashville from Blake Lamb (2015, 6-0, PF), Sydni Lollar (2018, 5-11, G) and Harris Price (2015, 5-6, PG).

“Blake has a very strong inside game, but she is also one of the best shooters I’ve seen this year,” Brown said. “She has a great mid-range game, and she can shoot it out to 27 or 28 feet. She is a true stretch forward who can really open up the lane for the penetrators. Sydni had a great spring, and she is starting to get a lot of interest. She is a very skilled, smooth athlete who can score in a variety of ways, and she can run the show for you. Her ceiling is very, very high. Harris has been sick, so she just started playing again. She is a pass-first point guard, but she can score. She plays good defense, she has an amazing handle, and she is a very good leader.”
Bret McCormick, the analyst for ASGR, also added his perspective on the Lady Panther prospects.
“Lamb is a strong bodied power forward who can score inside, but she can also shoot the deep three. She is a real stretch four,” McCormick said. “Lollar is a wiry, skilled guard with an all-around game. She is an excellent passes, and she has a nice floater. Price is a true point guard who sees the floor well, and she understands how to run the show.”
