When the KC Select program arrives at the FILA Nationals in July, program director Earnest Jones will have two highly-competitive teams carrying the KC Select banner.

The FILA Nationals, which will include over 100 national teams, will be played at the Suwanee Sports Academy outside of Atlanta from July 6-8. This is one part of a series of previews for the FILA Nationals where we will highlight the outstanding programs who will be competing.

Two of those teams will be wearing KC Select uniforms.
“We have two teams that are playing very, very well,” Jones said. “We had such a great group of high school kids, we had to split them into two teams. We have our KC Select White Team, which is mostly rising seniors. Then we have our KC Select Platinum Team. They are all sophomores, but they can compete with any junior team in the country.”
Three players from the Class of 2014 lead the White Team. Abby Hicks is a 5-8 shooting guard, Tondra Brooks is a 5-5 point guard, and Dominique Brodus is a 6-2 post player.
“Abby is a player who can shoot it from just about anywhere on the court,” Jones said. “I really believe that Tondra is one of the best point guards you will see, and Dominique has developed into a very talented post player.”
According to Jones, his Platinum Team is “loaded with talent.” The team is headlined by 6-0 shooting guard Cloe Lane, who is rated as the No. 76 prospect in the nation in the Class of 2015 by the All Star Girls Report. “Chloe is the best player in our organization,” Jones said.
Jones was also high on Dejionae Calloway (6-0, PF, 2015), Antoinette Daniels (6-0, WF, 2015), Austin Richardson (5-10, G, 2015), Taylor Jackson (5-4, PG, 2015) and the Young twins, Asia and Dasia, who are both 5-7 guards (2015).
