JMU Lands 2014 Duo

Kenny Brooks and his JMU staff are enjoying recruiting success this year.

A pair of highly-regarded prospects from the Class of 2014 have announced that they will play for the James Madison Dukes. Coach Kenny Brooks has received commitments from Chania Ray and Carley Brew.

In addition, JMU received a commitment from Dayton transfer Lexie Carpenter, but Carpenter has reportedly left JMU.

“I think this is two good pickups for JMU,” said All Star Girls Report analyst Bret McCormick. “This gives them to strong players for 2014.”

Ray is a 5-8 native of Washington, D.C. ASGR  has her listed as the No. 77 recruit in the Class of 2014.

“Chania is a great shooter. She can put the ball on the floor, but she has deep three-point range. That’s her real forte,” said McCormick.

Brew is a 6-0 forward from Wyomissing, Pa. She is listed at No. 246 by ASGR.

“Carley is a strong athlete with good skills,” said McCormick. “She is a blue-collar type of player with a good all-around game.”
