Indiana Flight Will Have Home State Edge At Twin Lakes TOC In Bloomington

The Indiana Flight program has the ability to compete with teams from across the nation. In late July, the Flight will get an advantage when many of the nation’s top clubs come to Indiana. Those teams will be will be competing in the Twin Lakes Tournament of Champions from July 23-25. The event will include 48 elite travel teams, with game being played at the Twin Lakes Recreation Center near Bloomington, IN.

Indiana Flight will have three teams competing in the event, and Coach Mark Landis believes he will have talented athletes on each of those squads. Heading the list will be a trio of athletes from the Class of 2015 — Kaitlynn Henning (5-7, PG), Alex Davidson (6-0, F) and Brooke Ebbing (6-0, F).
“Kaitlynn plays with a lot of savvy,” Landis said. “She knows how to get to the basket and draw contact. She has a nice jumper and good shooting range. Kaitlynn was also the valedictorian of her high school class. Alex is an athletic wing with good size. She can attack the basket, and she has a nice jumper. Brooke is a player who can hurt you with the three, and she can post you up.”
All Star Girls Report analyst Bret McCormick will also be watching the Flight stars this summer.
“Kaitlynn is an athletic combo guard who can put it on the floor or shoot from the edge,” McCormick said. “Alex is a versatile, smart player with good skills. Brooke is a four-three player who can post up or step out to the arc.”
Landis is also high on many of his younger players, including Natalie Ruedinger (2016, 5-8, CG) and Taylor Drury (2017, 5-10, WF).
“Natalie is an athletic, hard-nosed player who shoots her jumper like a boy,” Landis said. “She doesn’t need much space because she has a lightning quick release. Taylor gets up and down the court. She has a good mid-range jumper and great moves around the basket.”
“Ruedinger is an athlete who really elevates on her jumper, and she is a competitor,” added McCormick. “Drury is a good athlete with an all-around game. She can put the ball on the floor, and she has a nice shot.”
