Georgia Pistols Looking For Home-State Success At Marietta

The Georgia Pistols had their moments in the summer of 2014, continuing the program’s tradition of excellence. The Pistols will be turning the page this fall, and expectations will remain high.

“We definitely had a lot of success this summer. You’re always hoping to do just a little better, but we had a very good year,” said Coach Jack Feagin. “Now we’re looking at the younger players, and we have quite a few who will be playing college ball down the road.”

The next stop on that road for the Pistols will be at the Marietta Tournament of Champions. The event will be held at the Suwanee Sports Academy complex in Marietta, just outside of Atlanta over the weekend of September 27-28.

In Marietta, the Pistols will be paced by a strong group of players from the Class of 2017, including perimeter players Jalyn Reese (5-7, CG), Raichel Tringali (5-7, W) and Victoria Jackson (5-8, SG); plus post players Jennifer Giles (6-1, P) and Janee Knorr (6-0, P).
“We have a number of future college players in this class,” Feagin said. “Jalyn  is one of those players who sees the floor extremely well. Raichel is our best three-point shooter, and she is a good all-around player. Victoria is a very athletic two guard who always seems to come up with a big rebound. She is already good, and she is working very hard to improve.
“Janee is a good all-around player and she is very coachable. She just keeps getting better in terms of her inside scoring ability and her defense. Jennifer is a post player who is a good shooter, and she is extremely athletic. She is a very good defender, and she is as fast as anyone on the court.”
Bret McCormick, the analyst for the All Star Girls Report, also gave his perspective on the young stars for the Georgia Pistols.
“Reese is a quick, smart point guard,” McCormick said. “She is a good passer who can take it coast-to-coast, or she can shoot the three. Tringali is another smart player with skills, and she has very good shooting range. Jackson is a very athletic slasher, and she seems to be working hard to improve her overall game.
“Giles is a very athletic post who runs the court extremely well, and she can face up out to 15 feet. Knorr is a good athlete who is a blue collar type of player. She is going to rebound and do all the little things.”
