Georgia Pistols Have Local Advantage At Marietta TOC

The Georgia Pistols from the Metro Atlanta area have strength throughout their program, but it is their 2017 squad that is drawing the most attention after their impressive summer performance.

“The Pistol teams had a lot of success, and we had some teams that really excelled,” Coach Jack Feagin said. “We definitely have good talent on our 2017 team, and they won four of their five tournaments this summer. They had a very balanced team with a lot of talent.”

The Pistols will close out their 2015 campaign in their back yard at the All Star Girls Report sponsored Marietta Tournament of Champions. The event, which will be played from Sept. 25-27 at the Suwanee Sports Academy outside of Atlanta, Ga., will feature some of the nation’s finest travel squads.

Among the key players for the Pistols are Janee Knorr (2017, 6-0, F), Kelsy Fizer (2017, 5-9, WF), Victoria Jackson (2017, 5-7, G), Tatiana Foster (2017, 5-4, PG) and Symone Oliver (2017, 5-10, F). Knorr is rated as the No. 155 recruit nationally in her class by ASGR.

“Janee is not playing right now because of an ACL injury, but she should be back on the court in January,” Feagin said. “She is just a very solid basketball player. She is a very good defender, she is a team player, and she knows how to score inside.

“Kelsy is a player who always played in the post in high school, and this year she started making the transition to the perimeter with us. She really, really improved during the spring and summer. I think she has a lot of potential and a lot of talent on both ends of the court.

“Victoria has an extremely quick first step, and she is a very good defender. She has been working very hard on her game, and she is really starting to blossom. Tatiana is a very solid, dependable point guard. She is a very good defender, and she does a great job running the offense for us. Symone is a very athletic player who is an effective scorer inside.”
