Florida and Florida State have both recently made moves to bolster their future rosters. The Gators are adding a transfer and a prep recruit, while the Seminoles will welcome a pair of transfers.

In Gainesville, Coach Amanda Butler has added Antoinette Bannister and Haley Lorenzen, and Bannister has pushed the Gators’ recruiting class up to No. 15 nationally according to ASGR. Bannister, a 5-9 guard, began her collegiate career at North Carolina in 2012. A native of Jacksonville, Fla., Bannister spent one semester at UNC, playing in eight games and averaging 4.3 points per outing. Lorenzen is a 6-2 center who is rated as the No. 158 recruit in the Class of 2014 by the All Star Girls Report.

“Bannister is a great pick up for Florida,” said ASGR analyst Bret McCormick. “She can really shoot the ball, and she just knows how to play the game. I think they will really try to give her a lot of touches when she gets on the court. Lorenzen is a strong post player

In Tallahassee, Coach Sue Semrau is excited about seeing Quaneisha McCurty and Emiah Bingley in action once they become eligible under transfer rules. McCurty is a 6-4 center from Dalton, Ga. She had played in 11 games as a sophomore at Indiana this season, averaging 1.5 points and 1.5 rebounds. Bingley is a 5-7 point guard  from Greenwood, Mo. She had played in seven games as a freshman at Iowa State this year with two starts, averaging 5.0 points and 2.6 assists per outing.with a blue collar work ethic. She can score inside, she can step out to the foul line, and she always brings energy.”

“McCurty has good skills, and she has a lot of potential. She has the ability to give Florida State a good low post presence,” McCormick said. “Bingley is a point guard who can dish or score. She was one of the top point guards in her class when she came out (rated No. 73 overall by ASGR).”
