Talented JBS Headed For Lake Las Vegas

The West Coast has always been a strong area for women’s basketball recruiting, and now much of that talent plays under the JBS banner.

“From our top team on down to the 2018 class, we have the most loaded club on the West Coast,” said Coach Sean Chambers of the Sacramento based program. “Our talent level is spectacular. We’ve been one of the top clubs on the West Coast, and we just keep getting better.”

The talented JBS players will face their next big test when the club takes a total of seven teams to compete in the Lake Las Vegas Classic from July 10-12. The event, which will feature elite travel teams from across the country, will be played at the Westin Lake Las Vegas complex.

The veteran on the JBS roster is Destiny Lee (2015, 6-2, C), and she gets plenty of support from the younger standouts. Gigi Garcia (6-2, F) and Grace Colaivalu (5-9, PG) are 2016 prospects who have been invited to the USA Basketball U17 World Championship Team Trials, while Seraiah Tyller (2016, 6-4, C) and Shanaijah Davidson (2017, 5-8, PG) are establishing themselves as top prospects.
“Destiny is one of the top 2015 post players on the West Coast,” Chambers said. “She is a big bodied, left-handed post player who can just dominate inside. Gigi is a spectacular talent with a high motor and a high basketball IQ. She has great skills, and a college ready build and physicality. Grace is an extraordinary talent. She is more of a combo guard who can score or facilitate, she is a big strong point guard, and she has been blessed with amazing skills.
“Seraiah only began playing basketball two years ago, but she is a freakish athlete and a great shot blocker. She can already dunk a tennis ball, and she runs the floor very well. Shanaijah is very similar to Grace. She can score for you, and she has a spectacular handle. She has good size and a high basketball IQ.”
All Star Girls Report analyst Bret McCormick also contributed his perspective on the JBS standouts:
Destiny Lee: “Lee has a strong body, and she can be a beast on the block. She is left-handed, and she can score through contact.”
Gigi Garcia: “Garcia is a strong athlete, and she has inside-outside talent. She understands the game, and she has big time potential.”
Grace Colaivalu: “We have Colaivalu rated as the No. 79 recruit in her class. She is an explosive, athletic combo guard who attacks the paint. She can score or pass, and she just has a great skill set.”
Seraiah Tyller: “Tyller is a very athletic leaper who is an outstanding shot blocker. She is still learning the game, but she runs very well for her size.”
Shanaijah Davidson: “Davidson is an athletic, skilled point guard with big time potential. She has a scorer’s mentality, and a great feel for the game.”
