The 23rd Annual Deep South Classic will be in Raleigh Convention Center, Raleigh, NC on April 22-24, 2022.

NCAA Certified Event

– All Courts Under One Roof –

ASGR Basketball brings many of the nation’s elite prep athletes. In past years, current WNBA players Seimone Augustus, Alana Beard, Jordin Canada, Essence Carson, Karima Christmas-Kelly, Alaina Coates, Kahleah Copper, Monique Currie, Diamond DeShields, Candice Dupree, Adaora Elonu, Sylvia Fowles, Dearica Hamby, Linnae Harper, Bria Hartley, TIffany Hayes, Tayler Hill, Bria Holmes, Glory Johnson, Erlana Larkins, Stephanie Mavunga, Erica McCall, Angel McCoughtry, Nneka Ogwumike, Chiney Ogwumike, Courtney Paris, Candace Parker, Devereaux Peters, Theresa Plaisance, Kelsey Plum, Epiphanny Prince, Noelle Quinn, Angel Robinson, Mercedes Russell, Karlie Samuelson, Azura Stevens, Diana Taurasi, Asia Taylor, Krystal Thomas, Alyssa Thomas, Kristi Toliver, Kia Vaughn, Victoria Vivians, Lindsay Whalen, Courtney Williams, A’ja Wilson, and Tanisha Wright have played in ASGR events.

The 2022 event will include age groups 17U – 12U. Each age group will include the top travel teams from across the country, featuring the top players. Considerable attention will be focused on the prospects in the Classes of 2023 through 2028. The Deep South Classic also provides college coaches with a tremendous opportunity to scout the up-and-coming youngsters. A series of elite players made their first mark on the national scene at past Deep South Classics, and more will gain fame this spring.

NCAA COACHING REQUIREMENTS - APPLY EARLY!

The NCAA recently announced that once again in order to participate in coaching activities or sit on the team bench at an NCAA-certified event in 2022, coaches are required to obtain a USA Basketball (USAB) GOLD License. This applies to all teams at our certified events.

Teams without the USAB Gold Licensed coaches will not be allowed to create rosters on the BBCS, and will not be able to participate in the NCAA-certified portion of our events.

Allow 3 weeks for processing. APPLY EARLY!

The NCAA Basketball Certification System (BBCS) is now ready for use.  Got to: http://BBCS.ncaa.org to access the system.  This is the system you will need to access in order to register your team with the NCAA.  You must have your team registered BEFORE you will be allowed to participate in any of our NCAA certified events.

To use the system you MUST have your USAB Gold License.  If you do not have your Gold License please follow the directions listed above.

To register your team you must read the directions in the ECAG Manual.  The process is new and more complicated than it has been in the past.

The Basketball Certification System (BBCS) for new athlete registration for 2022.
Returning athletes should have received an email with login and renewal instructions. Coaches-Please advise your returning athletes to check their email (including their junk/spam folders). If they can not locate the email, please have them follow the instructions for returning users below.

ALL athletes participating in NCAA-certified nonscholastic events MUST register for or renew their profile in the NCAA Basketball Certification System (BBCS) – https://bbcs.ncaa.org. Detailed step-by-step instructions are provided in the Basketball Certification User Manuals section of www.ncaa.org/basketballcertification . Additional help is also available in our FAQ’s.
All tabs on the athlete’s profile must be COMPLETE (including documents uploads when applicable) BEFORE a coach can invite the athlete to the team’s bench/roster.

Hotel Information - Stay to Play Event- Deep South Classic

Deep South has partnered with Team Travel Source to provide attendees/groups with the best available hotel rates and a smooth booking experience.

Our event is a “Stay to Play” event: A good working relationship with hotels is critical for the long-term success of our event. For this reason, teams or attendees who are traveling from out of town are required to book their rooms through our Official Travel Partner, Team Travel Source, to ensure that our room blocks are utilized. In short, since the hotels are holding rooms for our event, we must use these rooms.

The best hotels will book up quickly so please book well in advance.

FAST FACTS:

All travel teams must arrive Thursday, or before your first game for mandatory coaches registration and certification. Registration begins on Thursday at 3pm, ending at 11pm and continues on Friday from 7am to 10pm. All teams should make departing flights on Sunday after 5pm. If flying, please use Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) or Piedmont Triad International Airport (GSO). Piedmont Triad is about 90 minutes from Raleigh.

Travel Coaches Check-In:

Check-in will be at the Raleigh Convention Center on Thursday from 3pm to 11pm and on Friday from 7am to 10pm.

FYI:

12U – 14U are subject to begin playing at 8am on Friday. All teams will play in the Raleigh Convention Center.  Please plan accordingly.
