BTR Another Level Stepping Up At Suwanee TOC

The BTR Another Level program out of Oklahoma has literally stepped up to another level this spring, and the early results have been impressive.

“They have played great so far this year,” Coach Carlos Adamson said. “This is their first time on the circuit at this magnitude, and they have done a great job. At the Deep South Classic, they were in a tough pool, and they went 2-0 and played very, very well.

“We’re very excited. We had a recent verbal to Oklahoma State, and we’ve got a lot of players who are getting a lot of attention right now. We are all looking forward to seeing what they can do in July.”

BTR Another level will have a chance to show their progress at the Suwanee Tournament of Champions. The event, which will showcase top flight teams from around the country, will be played at the expansive Suwanee Sports Academy outside of Atlanta from July 5-8.

When BTR Another Level arrives in Suwanee, they will be led by five veteran performers. Areanna Combs (2016, 5-11, G), who is listed at No. 163 nationally in her class by the All Star Girls Report, is the player who has committed to Oklahoma State. She is joined by Micayla Haynes (2016, 5-7, PG), Gabrielle Johnson (2016, 6-1, WF), Michaela Mack (2016, 5-6, PG) and Asia Cowen (2016, 5-8, SG).
“Areanna is a very athletic slasher. She handles the ball well, and she defends well,” Adamson said. “Areanna is just an athletic player with a high motor, and she plays with energy at both ends of the court.
“Micayla is a high IQ player with a strong build. She can score off the dribble, and she is a good at creating her own shot. Gabrielle is very athletic, and she runs very well. She was the state champion in the 300 hurdles and the high jump. Garbielle is a high energy player who can really score in the lane. Michaela is a heady player and a strong defender. She is a vocal leader who knows how to run the team. Asia can open up a game for us with her three-point shooting range. She is a strong athlete who is receiving a lot of interest.”
