Adams Leads Minnesota Warriors To Chicagoland TOC

The Minnesota Charity Warriors Elite 16U team played with a youthful roster this summer, but the team still enjoyed plenty of success thanks in large part to the talents of one special athlete. Andrayah Adams is a 5-9 guard who shines under pressure.

“Whenever we got down to the end of a close game, we put the ball in Andrea’s hands,” said Coach Patrick Adams, who is Andrayah’s father. “She hit a lot of clutch shots for us this year.”

Adams and the rest of the Warriors will be looking for more W’s at the upcoming Chicagoland Tournament of Champions. The event, which will feature many of the top clubs in the Midwest, will be played at Bolingbrook High School from Sept. 27-28.
Adams, who is the N. 144 rated prospect in the Class of 2016 according to the All Star Girls Report, will likely be one of the most watched players at the event.
“Andrea could player either guard spot,” Coach Adams said. “She knows how to get her teammates involved, and her basketball IQ is well beyond her years. But, she is also a dynamic scorer. She can create a shot off the dribble, and she can hit the three.”
“Adams is a very strong athlete who had a very good summer,” said ASGR analyst Bret McCormick. “She can really score the basketball. She can score in just about any way you can think of, and she is a great passer.”
In addition to Adams, the Warriors also rely heavily on Suzanne Gilreath (5-6, G, 2016) and Dariel Libscomb (5-11, WF, 2015).
“Suzanne was traveling for the first time this summer, and she created quite a buzz,” Adams said. “She is lightning quick, shoots the three well, and has a nice runner. She can score from a lot of different angles. Dariel is a very athletic wing. She is a freak athlete who can slap the backboard on her layups, and she is just starting to realize what her potential is. Dariel can defend anyone. We usually start her defending the point, and then we move her wherever we need her.
“Gilreath is a very, very quick guard,” noted McCormick. “She can really attack the basket, and she has a great floater in the lane. Libscomb is an explosive athlete who could play the two or three. She can slash to the hoop, and she is a very good defender.”
