2016’s Will Lead Tennessee Team Pride At Marietta TOC

After enjoying another successful summer season, Tennessee Team Pride is now focused on the future. Coach Chris Brown is still putting together the pieces of the puzzle for the upcoming year, but he knows that he has a strong foundation of players from the Class of 2016.

“We had a very productive summer, and we’re excited about next year,” Brown said. “It can be a little challenging in the fall because you are battling other sports like soccer, volleyball and cross country, but I know that we are going to put together a quality roster.”

That roster will begin the 2014-15 campaign at the Marietta Tournament of Champions. The event will be held at the Suwanee Sports Academy complex in Marietta, just outside of Atlanta over the weekend of September 27-28.

Tennessee Team Pride will be paced by Jasmine Bond (2016, 6-4, F), who is rated as the No. 211 recruit in her class by the All Star Girls Report.
“Jasmine is a stretch four,” Brown said. “She has perimeter skills, and with her 6-4 frame she is a defensive disrupter and a rebounder. She can also run the floor very, very well.”
“Bond is a wiry, skilled four-thre players,” added ASGR analyst Bret McCormick. “She can put it on the floor, and she can face up on the perimeter.”
Tennessee Team Pride should also get significant contributions from Haylee Croom (2016, 5-10, WF), Sarah Pearce (2016, 5-9, SG) and Carleigh Short (2016, 5-7, PG).
“Haylee has athleticism, muscle and endurance,” Brown said. “She can score and rebound, but the main thing is she is going to hustle and she is going to do all the little things for you. Sarah is a quick slasher who finishes. She can play defense and shoot the ball with range. Carleigh is a facilitator who is a pass first point guard. She plays good defense, and she can knock down the open jumper, but she just loves to keep everything flowing for us.”
“Croom is an athletic guard who has skills, and she can shoot the three,” noted McCormick. “Pearce is a quick, attacking guard who can shoot it from the arc. Short is a high IQ point guard. She has good quickness and she knows how to run a team.”
